Smart Strikes' major wins came in the Grade I Philip H. Iselin Handicap and the Salvator Mile Handicap, both in 1996 . However, he was just developing into a top-flight horse when his career was cut short by injury. He suffered a condylar fracture during a workout while preparing for the Breeder's Cup. Smart Strike retired to stud duty at Lane's End Farm in Versailles, Kentucky in 1997, Smart Strike's value as a stallion has risen dramatically as a result of the performance of his offspring. Going into 2009, Smart Strike is the sire of fifty-six stakes winners including Looking at Lucky and the highest North American money earner, Curlin. Smart Strike was the leading sire in North America (2007, 2008) and inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame (2008) Minimum bid: $150, Shipping: $10 This item is to benefit CANTER California - Thanks for bidding!
Items benefiting CANTER CA will have different payment instructions, thanks!

I won the Funny Cide halter last year, and I have to say there are few things more comical than putting a superstar's halter on my scrappy little appaloosa.
All that to say, somebody needs to bid this one up!

Okay, jen, I like your point. I hunt a 15 yr old OTTB, who had 79 starts, all as a low level claimer. He hunts first flight in tough country, and loves it! He is still working hard, and I think he deserves a "superstar" halter.
I'm in at $150.
